Massage Therapy

Massage therapy is the manual manipulation of soft body tissues (muscle, connective tissue, tendons, and ligaments) to enhance a person’s health and well-being. There are many types of massage therapy methods (also called modalities). People seek massage therapy for various reasons, such as reducing stress and anxiety, relaxing muscles, rehabilitating in overall health and wellness.

Massage therapy has been growing in popularity among chiropractors. Many chiropractors have their “in-house” massage therapists to work alongside them. The benefits of working together on musculoskeletal issues not only quicken the treatment time but also have longer-lasting effects. While chiropractors focus more on musculoskeletal issues, massage therapists can assist with soft tissue and muscle issues.

Massage Therapy

Dr. Freedman specializes in pain management. According to the American Academy of Pain Medicine (AAPM), “Chronic pain affects more Americans than diabetes, heart disease, and cancer combined.” If you are experiencing pain, we want to help! We are dedicated to helping patients regain pain-free lives. Often, people do not seek help for pain until it worsens. We want to help at the onset of symptoms so they do not progress.

Conditions We Treat

Back Pain Treatment

Back Pain

Since back pain is the leading cause of disability worldwide, it is vital to know how to prevent the cause of back pain. Maintaining a healthy diet and weight, remaining active, and avoiding prolonged inactivity or bed rest are all important ways to avoid back pain. Warm-ups and stretching are recommended before doing exercises or any physical activity. Some other preventative measures are maintaining proper posture, wearing comfortable, low-heeled shoes, and sleeping on a mattress of medium firmness to minimize any curvature in your spine. It is always good to remember to lift with your knees, not twist when lifting, and keep objects close to your body.

A chiropractor can help by performing gentle spinal adjustments to restore proper alignment, reduce tension, and relieve nerve pressure. This non-invasive approach alleviates pain and improves overall function and mobility, helping you return to your daily activities comfortably and easily.

Nech Pain Treatment

Neck Pain

The neck, or cervical spine, is a crucial body part. It starts at the base of the skull and consists of seven small vertebrae. The cervical spine bears the entire weight of the head, which is approximately 12 pounds. This part of the spine allows us to move our head in various directions, but this flexibility also makes the neck vulnerable to pain and injury.

Activities and events that can cause neck pain include extended sitting, repetitive movement, accidents, falls and blows to the body or head, normal aging, and everyday wear and tear. Neck pain can be very bothersome, and it can have a variety of causes.

A neck adjustment, also known as cervical manipulation, is a precise procedure that involves applying pressure to the neck joints, usually by hand. This technique enhances the spine’s mobility and restores its range of motion. Patients often experience an improved ability to turn and tilt their heads, reducing pain, soreness, and stiffness.

Shoulder Pain Treatment

Shoulder Pain

The shoulder is a complex body region of bones, tendons, ligaments, and muscles that connect the arm to the torso. It has two joints that work together to allow arm movement. Shoulder pain is a very common condition and affects almost half of the U.S. Most patients feel some pain, limited range of motion, an inability to engage in activities of daily living, or something more severe as a permanent disability.

At your first visit, we will take a detailed patient history to understand better your shoulder pain and how it started. Shoulder pain and injuries are often associated with a lack of mobility of the thoracic spine (middle segment of the back). This type of shoulder injury responds well to joint manipulation/adjustment. We can treat these symptoms in a manner tailored to your treatment plan.

Auto Injury Treatment

Auto Injuries

Even a “minor” crash can result in serious injuries like ligament sprains. This can lead to chronic pain and disability if not treated properly. Research shows that early treatment is the best way to prevent long-term symptoms. Chiropractic adjustments are effective because they help restore your nervous system’s healthy, normal function without medication or surgery.

Headache Treatment

Headaches

Headaches can cause various symptoms, including dull or sharp pain, pressure, and sensitivity to light or sound. They may also be accompanied by neck stiffness or tension.  Our chiropractic care can help by addressing misalignments in the spine, reducing muscle tension, and improving posture, which can alleviate headache frequency and intensity. Chiropractic adjustments promote natural pain relief and overall well-being without needing medication.

Sciatica Treatment

Sciatica

Sciatica is characterized by lower back pain radiating down one or both legs. The pain is dull, achy, and sharp, like “pins and needles” or similar to electric shocks. Other symptoms associated with sciatica include burning, numbness, and tingling sensations. Sciatic nerve pain varies in intensity from mild to severe, and frequency may range from occasional to constant. The onset is generally gradual and not necessarily associated with a previous event.

Since many disorders cause sciatica, we will determine the root cause by taking a thorough patient history during your physical and neurological exam to help give you the most effective treatment.

Arthritis Treatment

Arthritis

Arthritis is a condition that causes inflammation in the joints, leading to pain, stiffness, and decreased mobility. Over time, it can affect daily activities and overall quality of life. Chiropractic care can help manage arthritis symptoms by gently adjusting joint alignment and function. This helps reduce pressure on affected areas, increase mobility, and alleviate pain. Chiropractors may also recommend exercises and lifestyle adjustments to support joint health, providing a natural and non-invasive approach to managing arthritis and improving overall well-being.

Sport Injury Treatment

Sports Injuries

Sports injuries, such as sprains, strains, and joint pain, are common and can result from overuse, improper technique, or sudden impact. A chiropractor can help by using adjustments to improve joint function, reduce inflammation, and promote faster healing. We also offer techniques to enhance mobility, prevent further injury, and optimize physical performance, allowing athletes to recover naturally and return to their sport with greater strength and flexibility.
